The starting point for a UAV configuration is not the platform size alone, but the specific application. Range, payload, endurance, communication environment, power supply, transport concept, data paths and system integration together determine which UAV solution is technically appropriate.

For compact reconnaissance tasks, a lightweight S-class UAV system may be the right choice. For relay, tethered or more demanding payload profiles, modular M-class systems can be considered.
