Platform Overview and Product Mapping

The following platform overview maps former or internal designations to the current Vectorbirds UAV systems. It shows which product family belongs to which size class, mission role, architecture and typical payload category.

The class designation follows the Vectorbirds nomenclature: S, M and L stand for Small, Medium and Large, representing the respective size and MTOW class. The number indicates the device generation or version within that class.

EO

Electro-optical sensors, such as visible-light camera or zoom systems.

EO-IR

Combined daylight and thermal imaging sensors for visible and infrared situational awareness.

COM / COM-LR

Communication payloads; COM-LR refers to long-range communication applications.

SIGINT

Signals intelligence payloads for specialised, project-dependent applications.

Payload categories, sensor systems, communication payloads and system integration are project- and configuration-dependent.

System Architecture | Data Links, Payloads & Integration

Common Technology Platform Instead of Isolated Individual Systems

Many Vectorbirds UAV systems are based on a cross-platform system architecture. This includes IP-based data and video structures, MAVLink-2 communication, RTSP video streaming, secure radio data links, customer-adaptable ground control software and the ability to integrate external C2 and mission systems.

This means that AERIS, VECTIS, VECTIS R and VECTIS X are not treated only as individual aircraft, but as configurable system modules for reconnaissance, communications, payload integration and mission-specific applications.
