Mission Modules for Professional UAV Systems
Vectorbirds mission modules extend professional UAV systems with additional operating modes, integration options and mission-specific capabilities. The focus is on solutions for tethered power supply, data connectivity, mobile platform integration and persistent UAV mission profiles.
Professional mission modules are not treated as isolated accessories, but as part of a coordinated UAV system architecture. UAV platform, payload, power supply, data link, Ground Control Station, tether components and mission-specific operating logic are integrated according to the intended mission profile.
This section currently covers two central system levels: TELEVATOR as a mobile platform and vehicle integration for tether-supported UAV operations, and TETHER as the technical tether operating mode for tethered UAV power supply, data transmission and long-duration operation.

TELEVATOR combines UAV, tether system, power supply, landing station and operating architecture into a mobile platform solution. The system is intended for missions that require a vehicle-based, deployable or automated tether environment.

TETHER
Cable Powered Stationary Mode
TETHER describes the technical operating and integration solution for tethered UAV power supply, data connectivity and optionally hybrid communications architectures. Vectorbirds integrates suitable tether components into compatible UAV systems and adapts them to platform, payload and mission requirements.

TETHER as a Technical Solution, TELEVATOR as Mobile System Integration
TETHER and TELEVATOR describe different levels of a tethered UAV solution. TETHER refers to the technical operating mode with tether ground unit, tether cable, Tether Vehicle Module, power supply and optional data connectivity. TELEVATOR extends this approach into a mobile platform environment with defined take-off and landing integration.
TETHER
TETHER is suitable when a UAV needs to operate at a defined position for an extended period and requires tethered supply, stable system connectivity or a hybrid radio/cable architecture.
TELEVATOR
TELEVATOR is suitable when the tether solution is implemented as a mobile platform, vehicle integration or deployable complete system with a defined take-off and landing environment.

Extended UAV Operating Modes for Stationary and Mobile Mission Scenarios
Extended UAV operating modes complement suitable tethered UAV systems where conventional battery-powered flight is not sufficient for the mission use case. They are relevant when longer operating time, stable data connectivity, a defined take-off and landing environment or an elevated sensor or antenna position is required.
This allows stationary observation tasks, mobile platform solutions and temporary communications applications to be adapted to stationary and mobile mission scenarios.
Persistent observation
For persistent observation, situational awareness, surveillance and ISR-oriented observation, a UAV can be operated from an elevated position over an extended period.
Perimeter and asset protection
Perimeter and asset protection benefit from tether-supported systems when access points, infrastructure, temporary security areas or sensitive facilities need to be monitored over longer periods.
Temporary communications points
For temporary communications points, a UAV can be used as an elevated antenna, relay, router or repeater position when data links need to be extended or stabilised.
Mobile or remote deployment
Mobile or remote deployment enables, depending on the system concept, vehicle-based operation, platform-based operation or positioning at a tactically suitable location.
The specific configuration depends on the UAV platform, payload, operating altitude, data requirements, ground power supply, safety requirements and mission profile.
