Projects, research and technical evidence
UAV projects and development evidence at Vectorbirds
Vectorbirds develops its own UAV platforms and project-specific system solutions. This page brings together publicly or officially documented development work and states precisely what each item of evidence demonstrates.
Externally documented collaboration project
Compact lightweight drives for quadcopters with Fraunhofer IWU
Fraunhofer IWU lists Vectorbirds airborne systems as a project partner in its compact lightweight drives for quadcopters project. The German project record states a project period from May 2024 to February 2025 and identifies Fraunhofer IWU as coordinator.
Fraunhofer IWU documents that the shape-memory-alloy actuator developed in the project was used in the then-current Vectorbirds Grabbit G7 to lock the battery slide and prevent unintended release during operation. The example shows how a new actuator can be integrated into a real UAV platform for a defined mechanical function; it is not a statement about the current product configuration or availability.

Officially certified research and development
In-house development of a tactical UAV for reconnaissance and observation for security authorities
The Vectorbirds project “In-house development of a tactical unmanned aircraft for reconnaissance and observation for security authorities” was certified by Germany's Research Allowance Certification Office as an eligible R&D project under the Research Allowance Act for the 2020–2022 project period.
The certificate documents in-house R&D activity and the technical development risks of the project. It is not a product approval, procurement decision or evidence of operational deployment.
Technical IP in the connected company environment
Replaceable drive unit and multifunctional carrying handle
The connected Vectorbirds company environment includes the registered German utility models DE 20 2020 004 777.5 for a replaceable drive unit and DE 20 2020 003 031.7 for a multifunctional carrying handle for multirotor platforms.
DPMAregister still identifies Henning & Anglett Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH as the holder of both records. The same legal entity now trades as Henning Ventures GmbH; the company-name change is not a transfer of the rights. It is not the same legal entity as Vectorbirds airborne systems GmbH & Co. KG. This page therefore does not claim a transfer to, or ownership by, the Vectorbirds partnership.
Official register records: DPMAregister: DE 20 2020 004 777.5 · DPMAregister: DE 20 2020 003 031.7.
What this evidence demonstrates
- in-house UAV development and system integration over several years;
- project-specific collaboration with a research institute on a defined UAV function;
- officially certified R&D activity within the stated project period;
- technical IP in the connected company environment with transparent attribution of ownership.
For investors, strategic partners and potential acquirers, the Vectorbirds investor page places this publicly verifiable evidence within the controlled due-diligence process.
Maturity, performance data, interfaces, evidence scope and project deliverables are agreed separately for each customer or research project and verified for the relevant configuration.
